Description
Chapter 4 of Lifeweaver. Gregorian rescues Lynx from the terrible Glosh Forest and whisks her away to Ouranos. But one must wonder, why the Professor in the middle of the swampy excuse for a forest in the first place?
WHOOOO I FINALLY FINISHED THIS! AHAHAHA! *ahem* Anyways! This picture has taken me a couple of weeks to finish. Most of the time was spent on Lynx, actually, not Fairstep the pegasus. Fairstep was remarkably easy to draw with a reference. Lynx seemed to be giving me trouble just because of her pose. Greg, as always, was easy to work with. And Nonsense...well he's Nonsense. Greg and Lynx are all muddy, that explains why they're covered in ugly brown. xD
Before you ask, Nonsense could not take Lynx out of the forest. He wouldn't know where to go and also is too unstable to carry her around for long amounts of time. He'll get bored and shift to something else, and then drop Lynx. D:
Ok. So, first painting I've done more or less completely in Photoshop. I sketched this out in my large sketchbook and then scanned the sketch. I inked and colored completely in PS, and I must say, I love the results. It took a long time to ink, but I'm happy with the look. The lines are much cleaner and darker, and with Photoshop I can correct an inking mistake. Inking on paper is unforgiving and all of the mistakes are painfully noticeable. I'm aware the background is a bit plain, but come on, they're flying.
I could paint Greg's hair all day. I want to paint Greg's hair all day. It's so much fun. Painting clouds is fun too, but Greg's hair is more so.
Fairstep is Greg's Guardian, though he's blissfully unaware of this fact. She's a wild pegasus who he "tamed". In reality, the pegasus found herself on Greg's farm because she sensed he was powerful and bonded to him. Also, there was barbed wire in her wing and she couldn't fly. Greg nursed her back to health.
She's a palomino pegasus, because a white pegasus would be LAME. Her feathers are loosely based off of a golden eagle, which explains the tan coloring. I'm happy with the final product.

Ooo. I like the pegasus. she is really well done! I think animals are terribly hard to get right for some reason so I am extra super impressed!
You are right. she is way cooler not white.
I like the postures of both of the figures, despite the afore mentioned anatomy problems. They do a lot to show emotion!
